Science

Why study science?

Science helps us to understand life, the universe and our place within it. The world is constantly changing as new discoveries are made and new problems encountered. Science is the key to understanding these changes.

At the heart of science lies ‘the scientific method’, which teaches us to critically investigate the world around us and explain our findings.

The science department at Ridgeway aims to stimulate students’ curiosity for the world in which we live. We promote a culture of resilience and at every opportunity encourage and support our young people to be independent, confident and logical scientists of the future.

Our goal is to develop enquiring minds, encourage curiosity and inspire young scientists to think analytically, critically and creatively in order to solve problems and make informed decisions.
