Proud

We use the word ‘proud’ in our conversations with students. We want students to feel proud in three specific ways:

• Proud of themselves as individuals and the way they conduct themselves
• Proud of their efforts and accomplishments in and out of school
• Proud of being part of Ridgeway High School, a community of learners working together towards common goals

At the heart of our rewards system is the belief that students achieve better with regular encouragement, praise and rewards. We want students to know that when they do something well it is acknowledged and valued.

We started our Proud nominations in February 2023. Each week members of staff nominate students that they are proud of because of something the students have done or achieved. We display the nominations here and also around school along with the reasons that members of staff give.
