We are launching our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award for 2023 this half-term. Anyone currently in year 9 or year 10 – or anyone currently in year 11 who has completed the bronze award – can get involved, and we want as many students as possible to participate.
There will be a DofE group working towards the bronze award. We will also have a group working towards the silver award. Please note that the silver award is only for students who have successfully completed the bronze award.
We will be holding launch assemblies for students in year 9, year 10 and year 11 to introduce them to the various levels of the award.
We will also be holding a DofE information evening for parents. This will be held in school on Wednesday 18 January at 5pm. We expect it to last for about 45 minutes.
First introduced at Ridgeway in 2012, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award offers an outstanding opportunity for young people to master a wide variety of life skills and to test themselves against nationally recognised challenges.
A Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is one that will stand the test of time, developing the qualities and attributes that colleges and employers value highly. It also aligns closely with the school’s LEARN values.
