Futures Fair 2024

We were joined by representatives of forty-four organisations for our Futures Fair this year, who helped make the occasion an enjoyable, meaningful and thought-provoking one for the students.

We refer to the Futures Fair as our ‘opportunities marketplace’ because it is a chance for every student in years 9, 10 and 11 to walk around the stalls set up in the sports hall, chat informally with representatives from post-16 education and training providers and local organisations and employers, and find out more about the various options available to them when they leave Ridgeway.

The students spent time browsing the many stalls set up in the sports hall, collecting information about the various options available to them and chatting informally with providers.

Students talked to representatives from:

  • sixth forms – A levels, T levels and BTECs
  • further education colleges – work-related qualifications, pre-apprenticeship pathways and T levels
  • specialist colleges and training providers – courses and apprenticeships to gain qualifications for a specific career
  • universities – degree courses, degree apprenticeships and postgraduate qualifications
  • employers – training programmes for specific job roles and volunteering opportunities

Many thanks to our year 10 helpers – Luke, Carter, Callum and Leo – who played a big role in ensuring the day ran extremely smoothly.
