DofE Silver Award Expedition

After last week’s DofE bronze award expedition to North Wales, it was the turn of our silver-award cohort this week to complete the Expedition element of the award.

Fifteen students spent three days (including two nights at a campsite) in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District.

The silver-award expedition included:

  • walking the Dalemain Loop
  • pitching and taking down their tent
  • preparing their own meals – and washing and cleaning up afterwards
  • a journey on the Ullswater steamer to Glenridding (a village at the southern end of Ullswater)
  • walking back to the campsite (roughly 16 kms)

Huge congratulations to all fifteen students on their magnificent achievement.
