Well done to the nearly 450 students who took part in attendance reward trips on Friday 12 January.
Mr Sterry wrote in this week’s newsletter:
“You may have seen in the news this week that politicians from all the major political parties have been talking about the importance of school attendance. I am pleased that Ridgeway’s attendance is currently above the national average. We will continue to drive home the message that regular attendance is the key to success in school. It can be stated very simply: students who attend regularly do better in exams than students who don’t.
“As I make a point of saying in the first newsletter of every new year, one resolution that we can all set is to aim for 100% attendance. Today we have around 450 students on reward trips after they successfully completed our Not-Off November attendance challenge. We will be running lots more attendance rewards initiatives throughout the rest of the year. To state the obvious, you have to be in school to be eligible for an attendance reward.”
Our attendance manager Miss Elliott said:
“Friday’s attendance trips were a huge success, a well-deserved reward for students who achieved 100% attendance in November. They represented the school really well. Feedback has been fab. We have more attendance incentives coming up, so keep your eyes peeled!”
