We are running an interform World Cup competition alongside the actual World Cup currently taking place in Qatar. Our aim is twofold: to increase students’ awareness of different countries and cultures, and to promote and reward attendance and good behaviour in the last few weeks of term.
Forms have been divided into eight groups, each one representing a country that is taking part in the tournament itself. The eight ‘countries’ win points based on students’ effort and behaviour during the tournament (as measured by the number of achievement points they receive), and there are, of course, lots of points available for forms with the best attendance. We also tie in the actual football results too.
Meanwhile, forms have been using part of form time to learn more about the different countries and cultures involved in the World Cup.
At the time of posting, Team Brazil is in the lead. Congratulations to students in those forms – 7RG, 8SPE, 9FT, 10LLA and 11DF.
