English Exam Support Information

Mrs Giannatos has announced the following English department intervention sessions to support key stage 4 students in the coming weeks as they prepare for their exams in English language and English literature.

Year 11

• Two Saturday Schools – Saturday 14 May in preparation for the GCSE English Language Component 1 exam on Wednesday 18 May, and Saturday 21 May in preparation for the GCSE English Literature Paper 1 exam on Wednesday 25 May.
• There will be 3–4 staff members present on both days. Each session will be from 9am to 12pm.
• Four Monday after-school literature and language revision sessions until the last week of English exams
• A revision day over May half-term (date to be confirmed)
• GCSE English language exams are Wednesday 18 May and Friday 10 June
• GCSE English literature exams are Wednesday 25 May and Wednesday 8 June

Year 10

Year 10 sit their mock exams in the week beginning Monday 6 June (the first week back after half-term).

Students will sit two exams for English literature and two exams for English language. These exams are crucial for students as the grades will inform their college applications. We will be providing students with meaningful revision to ensure that they are fully prepared.

Additionally, the English team are delivering English revision every Thursday from 3.30pm. There are four sessions left until the mocks start!
