Some of our students have been taking part in the latest round of anti-bullying ambassador training, developing skills from previous Diana Award training and increasing their understanding of the role of an anti bullying ambassador.
We are of our association with the Diana Award charity. It is the only charity set up in Diana, Princess of Wales’ name, and her sons, William and Harry, are both keen supporters of the work it does to empower young people.
The students are working towards one of four badges that the Diana Award makes available. Three of the badges represent Wellbeing, Community Action and Online Safety, but the students chose to focus on Respect, which aligns perfectly with the school’s own LEARN values.
We run lots of initiatives to promote tolerance and inclusion and the message that everyone has the right to feel safe. Part of the Diana Award training involved planning five in-school initiatives that will highlight the issue of – and promote the idea of – respect.
