Ridgeway’s three houses — King, Kolbe and Teresa — organised a collection of items to make up seven special hampers for the families staying at Ronald McDonald Arrowe Park House over Christmas.
Although the students have chosen Claire House as this year’s school charity, we definitely don’t want to lose touch with Ronald McDonald Houses, our 2020–2021 school charity.
With that in mind, we put together some special hampers in the final week of term to spread a little Christmas cheer and offer support to the families who were due to spend the festive period at Arrowe Park House while their child was in hospital.
We asked students to bring in small items to make up the hampers to be delivered to Arrowe Park House on the final day of term. The hampers were made up primarily of the little things that will make a family’s stay at the hospital a bit more comfortable — travel mugs with lids, coffee shop or Sainsbury’s vouchers, small photo frames, fluffy socks, chocolates and biscuits and so on.
Mrs Moran and the three house representatives on the student senior leadership team, Jake, Megan and Ruby [pictured, with head student Macy and Philippa Bradbury from Ronald McDonald Houses], organised and coordinated the whole-school effort.
