Attendance Update

[This email was sent out to all parents and carers.]

This email is about attendance. It relates to students who are working remotely as well as students who are in school.

Students working remotely

I hope that your child is able to access remote learning successfully. I will be emailing you again tomorrow specifically about remote learning provision. This email is to establish some protocols regarding attendance and home learning — in other words, what we ask you to do if your child is working from home but is too unwell to work on a particular day.

If your child is too unwell to access Class Charts and complete work, please let their pastoral assistant know. This will really help us because, if we know your child is unwell, we will not need to spend time chasing non-completion of work or non-attendance on a form-time Zoom call.

You can contact your child’s pastoral assistant by email as follows:

Students in years 7, 8 and 9: Miss Olleolles@ridgeway.wirral.sch.uk
Students in years 10 and 11: Mrs Mackaymackayc@ridgeway.wirral.sch.uk

Students who are in school

If your child is currently attending school under the key worker or vulnerable child protocol, we expect them to attend on every day that you have booked a place.

If your child is going to be absent from school, you must inform school on the first day of absence.

You can do this by phoning the school office on 0151 678 3322 (Option 2) or by emailing Mrs Warbrick at: warbrickj@ridgeway.wirral.sch.uk

When you contact us, please tell us if your child is unwell or isolating while you await the results of a Covid-19 test.

Students who test positive for Covid-19

Regardless of whether your child is working in school or working remotely, please follow the normal procedure for letting us know in the unfortunate event that they test positive for Covid-19: contact the school office on 0151 678 3322 and choose Option 1.

Thank you for your support.
