Learning About e-Sports

Ten students from years 9 and 10 attended a series of esports workshops at Tranmere Rovers FC in March. There were three workshops in total, each one running for roughly two hours on consecutive Friday mornings.

Esports is a form of competition using video games and is becoming an increasingly popular and successful industry. The number of players around the world is already estimated to be in the hundreds of millions.

The purpose of the workshops was to enable students to gain a deeper understanding of the industry as well as to have some fun! It was also a fantastic chance for them to explore Tranmere Rovers FC’s own esports gaming suite.

The workshops delivered key information on how the industry works, how to keep information and accounts safe, and how to develop good gaming habits to support effective gaming performance and mental and physical health.
