All students in year 10 will be doing a week of work experience at the end of the current school year. The dates for 2025 are Monday 14 July to Friday 18 July. There will be no classes in school for year 10 during that week. Every student will be at their host employer’s workplace.
Work experience gives students the chance to learn more about the world of work and about the type of job or career they might enjoy, as well as helping develop their CV. It can be a transformational experience for a young person.
Students (and their families) are expected to find their own work experience placement. We will of course support where we can. However, you will appreciate that we have limited resources and so are in a position to help only a small number of students who are struggling to find their own placement.
We are using the online platform called Unifrog (see the link below) to manage all the administration relating to work experience. This includes things such as collecting information from employers about risk assessments and health and safety policies, and getting parents’ agreement for their child’s placement to go ahead.
