Geography

Why study geography?

Geography is a subject that allows students to investigate the human environment, the physical environment and the relationship between the two. Geography students make sense of the issues that the world faces and the processes that affect how the world works. They are able to make informed judgements about how the world should deal with these issues.

When you study geography and learn about places, you appreciate the world around you and the need to respect and safeguard it. You develop important skills for adult life such as map reading, ICT, graph and photo interpretation, and problem solving. Your literacy skills improve as you learn to argue points, express opinions and reach conclusions.

When you study geography, you really start to appreciate the world around you and the need to respect and safeguard it.
