Our Ex-Year 11 Awards Evening is always a highlight of the Ridgeway calendar. It is an opportunity to hear from former students about how the post-Ridgeway phase of their learning journey – be it at sixth form or college or in a workplace – is progressing. On Wednesday 26 November we welcomed back the Class of 2025, who achieved our best-ever exam results in the summer.
Mr Sterry wrote in his newsletter:
“Many thanks to Clint Hill, who was our guest of honour this year. Clint began his football career as a Tranmere Rovers player and is currently the assistant manager at League One side Stockport County. Clint’s theme was really pertinent to all of us: be clear about what your dream is and keep working towards it.
“I found it particularly interesting to hear about the setbacks he has experienced throughout his career. But by working hard, surrounding himself with good people and being determined to learn from mistakes and setbacks, he has carved out a really successful career, overcoming obstacles that could have derailed his dream.
“There is something for all of us to take from this and particularly young people. Learning and attendance to school doesn’t come easy to anyone, but sticking at it develops habits that will help lead to success.”
We will publish the Class of 2025 Awards shortly.
