Twenty-plus students from years 8–11 headed to Condover Hall, a residential activity centre in Shropshire, for a weekend of netball and outdoor adventure activities.
The PE department took along more than twenty students, entering three teams in competition: one from year 8, one from years 9/10 and one from years 10/11.
Condover Hall has lots of other activities to offer in addition to netball. Although it was particularly windy during the day on Saturday, the weather had improved by the evening and the outdoor adventure experiences were open. The students enjoyed activities such as abseiling, a trapeze, Laser Conquest and axe-throwing.
Going to Condover Hall is a wonderful opportunity for the students to hone their skills and improve their understanding of the game by playing against opponents from schools and netball clubs from across England and Wales, all of it overseen by qualified umpires.
All our three teams did themselves proud, but particular congratulations to the year 8 team who finished third in their group on the Saturday, becoming the first Ridgeway team ever to progress through to the cup finals on the Sunday.
