The PE department organised two trips, involving more than 70 students, to Anfield in May to reward students’ commitment to football at Ridgeway. It was a wonderful opportunity to visit an iconic sporting stadium and learn more about the history of Liverpool FC.
As well as being taken on an extensive tour of the stadium, the students visited the Anfield museum.
Miss Mansfield said: “The students thoroughly enjoyed their Anfield experience, and some of the comments that they made afterwards were great to hear. I particularly liked how inquisitive they were when the guides asked if there were any questions. I am really proud of all the girls who took part and look forward to arranging future trips.”
Mr Glover said: “The students represented Ridgeway High School amazingly well. One member of the Anfield staff described them as the best group they had had for quite a while. The students got an incredible amount out of the day. They were highly engaged and eager to ask and answer questions.”
