Thinking About Post-16 Choices

We seek to nurture a sense of ambition and broaden students’ horizons. We engage students at a young age – beginning with learning for life lessons in year 7 — in thinking about their future by helping them focus on dreams and aspirations.

Prior to their week of work experience, year 10 students take part in a Progression Routes Day, including workshops delivered by outside providers from the world of business and further and higher education.

Opportunities to visit careers roadshows, taster days, a one-to-one careers interview and targeted support for vulnerable students help ensure that students leave us ready for the next phase in their journey.

Our annual Futures Fair is open to all students from year 9 upwards, helping to stimulate their thinking around the various pathways from the age of sixteen. Here are some images from our 2021 Futures Fair:
