Houses and Bubbles

To support with physical distancing during the cornavirus emergency students are grouped in bubbles. They are also placed in a house when they arrive at Ridgeway.

The house system is at the heart of our student experience and house identity is a key ingredient of the Ridgeway bond. For example, houses play a major part in competitions and character education.

As voted by the students, our three houses are named after three great humanitarians of the twentieth century — Mother Teresa, Maximilian Kolbe and Dr Martin Luther King Jr. A humanitarian is someone who works to improve the lives of others, often putting their own well-being at risk.

Each of our three humanitarians lived their lives according to principles of fairness, tolerance and respect for others. Their lives serve as an inspiration to us all.

Our school badge, designed by the students, incorporates references to these three inspirational individuals and their work.
